Local organisations

SPAE – Society for the Protection of Ascot & Environs

SPAE has been the planning watchdog for residents of the SL5 postal area (Ascot, Sunninghill and Sunnigdale) for 40 years, with around 1,500 members on a apolitical, semi-charitable basis.

WiA is a group of local people interested in wildlife. Their aims are to preserve and enhance biodiversity in our area and learn more about what wildlife is around us. They hold talks, organise walks, carry out surveys and conservation activities and generally take action to improve our area for wildlife. They are actively involved with the NP Delivery Group in the Biodiversity Project.

Planning related websites

This is RBWM’s planning portal, where you can search for any planning application. Either by application number (if known, this is easiest way), or by address. Clicking on “Associated Documents” takes you into the heart of PAM where all documents relating to that application sit. If you wish to comment on an application, you must do so by the deadline shown in the yellow panel as the “Consultations were completed on” date.

This is a really interesting and useful website. Search is by entering a property name or house number. Having found the right property, click on “MY MAPS”. This shows you the site and surrounding properties.

RBWM publish weekly a list of all planning applications received and all planning decisions made. The lists are grouped by Parish/Ward – you have to scroll down to find “Sunninghill and Ascot” and “Sunningdale”.

This is national government policy for Planning and the over-arching document that all Local and Neighbourhood Plans have to conform to.

The CPRE (Council for the Protection of Rural England) has produced a very helpful guide on how to comment on planning applications. This can be downloaded using the link above.
