Latest News: Ascot, Sunninghill and Sunningdale Neighbourhood Plan Delivery Group (AS&SNPDG) is working with RBWM, the parish council, SPAE and other stakeholders to develop a SPD (supplementary planning document) for Ascot Centre that gives guidance to developers (and RBWM Planning Department) for any future developments proposed for Ascot so that they better match local residents' and business requirements and expectations.  This work builds on all the previous work and involves public consultation to understand public priorities and identify if requirements have changed over recent years.

The Local Planning Authority, Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead (RBWM) state that they wish to ensure high quality development and an holistic approach to Ascot as a whole place (known as 'placemaking') which is why they are preparing a Supplementary Planning Document which can be used as a tool to reinforce the principles of the Neighbourhood Plan, the Borough Local Plan and other work that has gone before.

RBWM have identified the following 5 common themes across a variety of work from the past 10 years, representing the aspirations of the community for Ascot:

RBWM  would like people who live, work and use the centre of Ascot to complete some surveys. RBWM would like to understand how you think these themes are relevant when thinking about different aspects of Ascot.

The development planned for the area sited between Station Hill, The Clock House and south of the High Street is already the subject of a planning application that is currently being processed and is not subject to the SPD (Supplementary Planning Document) currently being developed. However, the developer and RBWM planning are involved in the SPD process and will hopefully take onboard local requirements that can be incorporated at this stage.

We still have serious concerns regarding several fundamental aspects of this imminent and significant project, even though the revised plans reflect a number of improvements.

Planning application RBWM 22/01971

will have significant implications for our community.

The main areas of concern continue to be:

NPDG and SPAE have been supportive all along about the rejuvenation of Ascot, but what is now being proposal falls short of the Prince’s Foundation Vision.

Welcome

This website is here for you to find about our local Ascot, Sunninghill and Sunningdale Neighbourhood Plan and the development which takes place in our area. This Plan was created by and for the community around the developments in and around our villages – the most important of which was to protect our neighbourhood’s character and its leafy surroundings.

The Plan was put to a public referendum on 27th March 2014 and received an overwhelming (91%) YES vote from local voters. It was adopted by the Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead on the 29th April 2014 and forms part of its Development Plan, which means that for the first time ever, local people are having a real influence on planning decisions being made for our area. The Ascot, Sunninghill and Sunningdale Neighbourhood Plan (AS&S NP) is monitored and championed by local residents – all volunteers – known as the Delivery Group who ensure its implementation and coordinate the delivery of specific projects identified by the local community as being important. These include:
