MAJOR DEVELOPMENT IN THE CENTRE OF ASCOT WILL IMPACT US ALL

NEW: The Developer has filed new plans for Ascot Centre which were posted on RBWM's website on 16th December.

This development is planned for the area sited between Station Hill, The Clock House and south of the High Street.

We still have serious concerns regarding several fundamental aspects of this imminent and significant project, even though the revised plans reflect a number of improvements.

Planning application RBWM 22/01971

will have significant implications for our community.

The deadline for comments to be submitted is 6th January 2023.

The main areas of concern continue to be:

  • Lack of parking both within and outside the development

  • Over development of housing

  • Loss of mature trees

  • Timing of Neighbour Consultation expiry date of 6th January 2023

NPDG and SPAE have been supportive all along about the rejuvenation of Ascot, but what is now being proposal falls short of the Prince’s Foundation Vision.

Welcome

This website is here for you to find about our local Ascot, Sunninghill and Sunningdale Neighbourhood Plan and the development which takes place in our area. This Plan was created by and for the community around the developments in and around our villages – the most important of which was to protect our neighbourhood’s character and its leafy surroundings.

The Plan was put to a public referendum on 27th March 2014 and received an overwhelming (91%) YES vote from local voters. It was adopted by the Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead on the 29th April 2014 and forms part of its Development Plan, which means that for the first time ever, local people are having a real influence on planning decisions being made for our area. For more details on our Neighbourhood Plan, click here.

The Ascot, Sunninghill and Sunningdale Neighbourhood Plan (AS&S NP) is monitored and championed by local residents – all volunteers – known as the Delivery Group who ensure its implementation and coordinate the delivery of specific projects identified by the local community as being important. These include:

  • Ascot Centre and High Street rejuvenation

  • A village “hopper bus” service

  • Ensuring we have sufficient primary school places

  • Better transport management of our busy roads

  • Protecting and improving local biodiversity

Join us and help us protect the green and leafy character of our beautiful area.

A team of over 50 volunteers helped produce our Neighbourhood Plan. We always welcome new volunteers to champion its future. Your contribution will ensure YOUR neighbourhood is a place where we can all continue to enjoy living and be valued by the community for years to come.
